Dear RHC Members,

I hope you and your families are enjoying a wonderful summer.

Although we're in the "off-season," preparations for another exciting year of Recreational Hockey Calgary are already well underway. Registration is in full swing, and my fellow Board volunteers are busy behind the scenes preparing for the upcoming season.

This summer, we're also focused on several initiatives aimed at improving the experience for our members. In particular, we're working closely with Hockey Calgary on the transition to electronic game sheets, which will be implemented across all Hockey Calgary associations this season. We're also developing a new electronic workflow system to streamline how member complaints, suggestions, compliments, and general feedback are submitted, tracked, and resolved. Our goal is to make communication with the Board easier, more transparent, and more efficient for everyone.

Following our Annual General Meeting a few weeks ago, I'd like to share a few Board updates with our membership.

Thank You to Our Outgoing Board Members

On behalf of the entire RHC membership, I'd like to extend our sincere appreciation to two outstanding volunteers whose Board service concluded at this year's AGM.

Linnaea Harrison has completed her term as Vice President after providing tremendous leadership, guidance, and support to the Association. We are also incredibly proud that Linnaea was recently recognized as RHC's Volunteer of the Year, a well-deserved honour recognizing her dedication to RHC.

Melanie Callan has completed her term as U18 Coordinator after countless hours devoted to supporting our coaches, players, and families. Melanie consistently approached every decision with professionalism and a genuine commitment to providing the best possible experience for our members.

Please join me in thanking both Linnaea and Melanie for their exceptional service and the lasting contributions they have made to Recreational Hockey Calgary. Their dedication has helped make RHC a stronger organization, and we wish them all the very best.

These volunteers join a dedicated group of returning Board members who continue to invest countless hours behind the scenes to provide a fun, safe, affordable, and well-organized recreational hockey program for our players and families.

Thank you to every member of our Board for volunteering your time and expertise. We are excited to work together as we prepare for another great hockey season.

Registration Reminder

Registration for the 2026–2027 season is now well underway.

To assist with planning and team formation, we encourage families to register as early as possible. Please note that the registration deadline is August 15. Registrations received after that date will be subject to a $100 late registration fee.

If you know of friends or neighbours who are looking for a fun, affordable recreational hockey program, we'd love to welcome them to the RHC family.
