2024-25 REGISTRATION DATES

HOW TO REGISTER

All registrations must be completed online. Refer to the How To Register tab for more information.

IMPORTANT: If you have been able to successfully "checkout" of the registration process with Rec Hockey Calgary your player WILL be placed on a team. No confirmation email will be received.

DIVISIONS

Leagues are offered for players in the following divisions (age as of December 31, 2024):

  • U13 - 2013-2012 (ages 11-12)
  • U15 - 2011-2010 (ages 13-14)
  • U18 - 2009-2008 (ages (15-16)
  • Junior - 2007-2004 (ages (17-20)

NOTE OUR JUNIOR AGE GROUP IS 17-20

Team Snap will only present the applicable age division when registering. Player movement to play in a higher or lower division will be considered based on the following criteria: playing with an immediate family member or skill level of the player. An email requesting such a transfer must be sent to Cathy Hosowich.

WAIT LIST

If the division or position you are registering for is full you will be presented with a WAIT List option. If you choose to register on the Wait List, proceed with the registration process and then it is recommended that you select payment type "Money Order" near the end of the process.

If player or goalie spots become available, or additional teams are added, you will be contacted by the Division Coordinators for team placement and also by the Registrar to arrange for payment. A minimum of 30 players in any one division is required before consideration is given to adding teams.

FORMATION OF TEAMS

The formation of teams is a complex process and takes many hours of volunteer time. Our main goal is to draft teams that are balanced in terms of skill level, experience, forwards & defense and coaches. In the U13 & U15 Divisions 'Sorting Skates' are held before the season to help gauge player skill levels and help division coordinators draft competitively balanced teams.

The Division Coordinators will do their best to place you on a team with A FRIEND; however, this is not guaranteed.

ALSO NOTE THAT DURING THE SEEDING ROUND, THE DIVISION COORDINATORS MAY TRADE PLAYERS TO BALANCE TEAMS.

FRIEND REQUESTS

Part of the attraction of Rec Hockey is being able to play with a friend. Siblings MUST reciprocate each other to play together.

We will now have only 1 friend request, and it MUST be reciprocated.

Our top priority is to create balanced teams.

FEES

FLAMES EVEN STRENGTH PROGRAM

Financial assistance for qualified families is available through the Flames Even Strength Program funded by the Flames Foundation, Canada Pacific Rail, KidSport Calgary and as well as other donors.

For more information and to apply visit the Hockey Calgary website.

There will be a new process this season. The whole process will be done online, directly from Hockey Calgary. Details will be on the Hockey

When completing registration on Team Snap select "money order" (offline payment) as the payment method.

Also, be aware that subsidy may not cover the full fees.  You may be responsible for some fees. In the past, subsidy has covered $700, which means YOU would be responsible for the balance.
