Exciting News: Registration for the 2025–2026 Season is Now Open!
We’re thrilled to announce that registration for Recreational Hockey Calgary’s 2025–2026 season is officially open! Whether you're lacing up your skates again or joining us for the first time, we can’t wait to welcome you to another exciting year on the ice.
Thank You for a Successful AGM
A heartfelt thank you to all our members who attended our recent Annual General Meeting. Your engagement and support are what keep our community strong. While the 2024–2025 financials were still under review at the time of the meeting, we’ll be holding a special meeting in August to formally approve the finalized documents—stay tuned for more details.
Gratitude to Our Dedicated Volunteers
We’re incredibly grateful to our Board members for their dedication and hard work throughout the past season. A special shout-out goes to Suzanne Hatch, who has stepped down as Junior Age Group Coordinator after four years of outstanding service—including this past season, even without a player in the league! Suzanne’s energy and enthusiasm have left a lasting impact, and she will be greatly missed by players, coaches, and fellow volunteers alike.
We’re pleased to welcome Nichole Stadnick into the role of Junior Age Group Coordinator—thank you, Nichole, for stepping up to support our community!
We also extend our sincere thanks to Cathy Hosowich, our long-standing Registrar, whose behind-the-scenes efforts keep everything running smoothly. Your commitment does not go unnoticed.
Board Opportunity: Referee Liaison
We currently have an open position on our Board: Referee Liaison. After many years of exceptional service, David Hunter is passing the torch for this role while continuing as our U13 Age Group Coordinator. The Referee Liaison plays a vital role in fostering communication between RHC, on-ice officials, and the Central Zone Referee Committee. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a respectful and well-officiated game environment. (And don’t worry—this role does not involve scheduling referees!)
Looking Ahead
As we gear up for another great season, my mission remains clear: to support our incredible community of nearly 1,000 players and coaches by fostering a fun, inclusive, and positive hockey experience. Whether you're a seasoned player or just starting out, RHC is a place to grow, connect, and fall in love with the game.
Be sure to register soon—we can’t wait to see you on the ice this fall!
P.S. Always remember: “We do this for the kids.”
